The mission of the Monique Burr Foundation is to give hope in the lives of children by providing training and education to prevent and reduce the rate of abuse among children throughout Northeast Florida and in the Tampa region.

In 2008, more than 25,000 children were trained and empowered to protect themselves through the Good-Touch/Bad-Touch Program.® Through programs like "Monique’s Safety Net", an in-home case management program provided to high at-risk families referred by the University of Florida’s Child Protection Team, the cycle of abuse is stopped. The Foundation also supports other prevention and intervention programs offered through other nonprofit agencies that aid children and their families providing intervention in abusive situations and to ensure that the cycle of child abuse does not continue in the lives of those families.
